Foundation waterproofing

If the foundation walls lack adequate preventative waterproofing, dampness or even water can penetrate them, thus leading to permanent dampness. Wet foundations are prone to damage – by corrosion and deterioration of thermal insulation. Foundation waterproofing is applied in order to prevent such damage by protecting the structure against infiltration of water from surrounding soil. Foundation waterproofing is in other words hydroinsulation executed in buildings with basements and where ground water level is constantly high and causes constantly high impact of hydrostatic pressure on the underground parts of the structure. A distinction is drawn between horizontal foundation waterproofing and vertical foundation waterproofing.
