Vertical foundation waterproofing

Vertical foundation waterproofing is applied on the surface of foundation walls and its purpose is preventing infiltration of dampness, rain water or ground water into the walls. Waterproofing must adhere tightly to the substrate on its whole surface and it needs protection against mechanical damage on its external side. There are three types of vertical foundation waterproofing:

  • Light dampproofing, which protects the elements of the building against rain water and soil moisture
  • Medium waterproofing, which protects the structure against infiltration of rain water towards foundation walls in the situation when ground water level is below foundation and virgin soil is impermeable
  • Heavy waterproofing used when a structure needs to be protected against confined water
